New to Teaching Core Maths Programme

Summary

The purpose of this programme is to support teachers across London, who are new to teaching Core Maths, in developing specialist knowledge for teaching Core Maths and to increase their confidence in teaching the course.

Developing Core Maths Pedagogy

Summary

This project will contribute to the wider national effort to support teachers and leaders increase the growth in uptake and delivery of Core Maths in schools and colleges and to embed a culture of Core Maths within school and college maths departments with confidence.

Supporting Post-16 Resit

Summary

This Work Group will explore effective ways of teaching key content to GCSE resit students, and effective ways of working with teachers of post-16 resit GCSE in the context of Covid recovery. Participants will, through collaboration and experimentation, deepen their knowledge and understanding of the curriculum demands of GCSE Maths and their awareness of pedagogical approaches that best support students taking GCSE for the second time.

Strengthening Partnerships with ITT Providers

Summary

Now in its fourth year, this project provides opportunities to explore and share current mathematical developments and consider their implications for ITT providers and Maths Hubs in order to help trainees transition into teaching mathematics effectively.

Developing A Level Pedagogy

Summary

This NCP provides national support for the effective development of pedagogy in the teaching of A level Mathematics to support Covid recovery, to enhance the quality of teaching and the conceptual understanding of students, and the development of participants as leaders of A level teaching professional development in their own school or college.
